Killswitch Engage Kicked Ass!

Yes, you did read that correctly. Killswitch Engage kicked ass at the first show of their 2010 headlining run across the U.S., Februrary, 4 2010, at the House of Blues, Boston, MA. It has been a while since i've gone to a Killswitch show because, to be honest, I've had some serious issues with them the past few years. These issues include them coming off as complete assholes, their music being a bit too queer, the fact that they rarely, if at all, play songs from their first record, and that they come off as complete assholes, did I already say that?

Anyway, the other night they were not assholes, still slightly annoying in some respects, but very tollerable. They played a great set, which included the song Soilburn, FROM THEIR FIRST RECORD, and they were as usual tight as hell. They did fuck up noticeably on one song, I'm pretty sure it was a new one, and in their defense it was the first night of the tour.

Adam D. was a complete jackass as per usual and Howard Jones was the same pretentious bitch he always is, but for some reason which I can't quite put my finger on, it was ok. They were clearly in a good mood and truly enjoying themselves which from a fan's point of view means a real lot and is probably the reason that the show was so good. I would list the songs that they played but I don't know the names of them because I stopped paying attention to the details of KSE in 2004. The two that I do know they played are Fixation on the Darkness and Soilburn because these were the two that I enjoyed the most.

The show was sold out and the audience was into it. It was a great time and for that reason I have a renewed faith in KSE.

HOWEVER (there is always a catch...), the Devil Wears Prada is a fucking disgrace to music. I was actually offended that I had to see even a few songs of theirs. They are fucking horrible, seriously, they are one of the worst things I have ever seen. I don't know who had the bright idea to put them on this tour but that person or persons should be fucking fired. I missed Dark Tranquillity because I thought they were playing second and the devil wears we suck dick was playing first... that was not the case. So I can't say much about Dark Tranquillity except that there is no doubt in my mind that they are way better than the devil wears we suck dick.

Regardless of the horror that is the Devil Wears Prada, if you were thinking about going to see Killswitch, I highly recommend that you do. The dates for the rest of the tour are listed below.
