Skeletonwitch and Doomriders 2/20/09

Seriously one of the best shows I have ever seen!!!!!

Ok I'll keep this brief, one cause I don't have a lot of time here, and two I don't want to bore you to death.  I went to see Skeletonwitch and Doomriders at the Webster Underground last Saturday evening, and quite frankly it ripped my fucking face off.  I mean holy shit those two bands tore Hartford CT a new asshole that night.  I had never seen either live previously and will never miss another show from either if they are anywhere near here again.  Doomriders tore it down like none other, their whole set was sick, and for me the highlight was hearing the song "Lions" live, just happens to be my fav from them.  Just as the crowd is catching their breath from the assault that Doomriders laid upon them, Skeletonwitch comes out shredding and melting faces from front to back.  Personally I have never seen anything like it.  It is certainly thrash death metal but with a little something extra.  I can't really put my finger on it but they definitly have their own style within the genre the reside.  Highlight from Skeletonwitch was "Beyond the Permafrost" wich I was suprised to see everyone in the crowd know the lyrics to, I thought I was the only one who knew these fucked up lyrics, it was  a very nice feeling knowing that there are freaks out there just like me.   So if you ever have the chance to see either one of these bands do yourself the favor and go, you won't be dissapointed.!

One of the bands that opened this show, Howl, was quite ridiculous.  here's the link to their page http://www.myspace.com/howlheavymetal  best discription i can give for them is, if early Mastodon and High on Fire had a little bastard metal baby. enjoy.   I will be doing a full article and interview with this band down the road, and don't be suprised if they show up in Danbury CT sometime this summer.  Sometimes it helps to work for this company.
